Museum Night 2023: Museums matter!

FRIDAY, JANUARY 27, 2023 FROM 6 PM TO 1 AM
On Friday, January 27th, the traditional Night of the Museum will take place, the 18th in a row. This year's motto of the event is "Museums are important!". In Pula, the Archaeological Museum of Istria, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Istria, the Historical and Maritime Museum of Istria, and the University Library in Pula participated in the Night of Museums.

The programs will take place between 18:00 in the evening and 1:00 in the morning, and visitors will be able to choose between numerous locations and contents.


Program of the Archaeological Museum of Istria:

18.00-01.00 SIGHTSEEING OF THE ARENA, with tea and mulled wine

18.00-01.00 VISIT THE EXHIBITION "CASTLE OF ISTRIA", Museum-gallery area Sveta srca

18.00-01.00 VISIT THE EXHIBITION "SPHINX - FIND FROM THE GREAT ROMAN THEATER IN PULA", "Window to the Past", Carrarina 4.

From 18.00 to 19.15, and from 19.30. until 8:45 p.m., EXPERT GUIDANCE WITH THE EXHIBITION "COLONIA POLA, QVAE NVNC PIETAS IVLIA...", Gallery C8, The exhibition will be presented to the audience by Giulia Codacci-Terlević, head of the Educational Department of the Archaeological Museum of Istria.

19.00 LECTURE "HERCULES, PROTECTOR OF ROMAN PULA AND HIS REPRESENTATIONS ON ANCIENT COINS", multipurpose hall of the Museum, Carrarina 3; the lecturer is trainee curator Erika Trbojević. This lecture will also be available on the Museum's Facebook page.
